We camped the first night near Jorial Barnett's, between Jacksonville and Larissa. Two of the Barnett boys were going with us, and several from Larissa.
This is an account of the formation of the 3rd Cavalry of Texas in June of 1861. They were on their way to training in Dallas before participation in the Civil War. This documents his location at the time and that two of Jorials sons fought for the Confederacy. These would have been sons of Martha since the sons of his second wife Rachel would have been too young.
