Changed spelling of middle name to Travis- date unknown.
Information recvd through Aunt Edna Farrar Fite:
A.T., M (...unreadable...) Malone & Alberta occupied a tenant house on the property of Mrs. Edna Brown in Leona, Leon Co. It was here that Edna was born and named for Edna Brown.

The Navasota River Assoc. was several churches in an area making up the association.

Lochlin Farrar founder of Farrar, Limestone, Tex was cousin of A.T.'s

Mary was known to all (except A.T.) as Molly. Mary never called him anything except Mr. Farrar, although he was called Uncle or cousin Alex. One of her ways of teasing him if he had to begin again or redo something was to ask, "Did you make an X and spit in it?" His stock answer, in hurt tones, "Oh, Mary". Apparently A.T. was proper, while Molly was full of fun and not at all awed by her position as minister's wife.

Edna Farrar (...unreadable...)lied Co. E- 18 Regt Vol of Clinton Miss & Jackson's Rifles of Jackson, Miss

Information received thru Wm Albert Farrar Sr:
Mary E. had done volunteer nursing in one of the hospitals where A.T. had been a patient during the Civil War, and this was how they met.. When A.T. left the hospital they corresponded and later married.

Because of the length of time spent in the hospitals A.T. learned to knit to pass the time. After they were in Texas A.T. would sho the sox to his children. He had knit the sox and cross stitched his initials into it.

A.T. would tell this story as the only time he ever stole anything: "While in the hospital he was given morphine to ease the pain from his wound, but never enough. One night the nurse accidentally left the bottle of morphine in his room. He 'stole' the bottle and hid it among his things. After that he supplied his dosage just enough to kill the pain.

As a chjld, W.A. can remember that the people of the surrounding country would come to A.T. if their children were ill and A.T. would make up medicines for them. He worked with the precision of a pharmacist.

Information from Wm A. Sr: Edna attended opening classes at Mary Hardin Baylor College at Belton and was in the first class graduated from there. Taught at Jacksonville Co (... unreadable...) until she married Fite. After his death she attempted to run his coal business but because of the new found oil industry the business failed. Died when E's. son was about 11
